Prepare and upload a CSV

Format one item per row, upload the file, and confirm the dataset is ready.

How should I prepare the file?

Give each row one item of work and use the first row for clear, unique column names. Include the context a person would need to make the same judgment.

  1. Save the file as CSV.
  2. Keep one record per row and one kind of value per column.
  3. Check a few rows for missing values, broken delimiters, and shifted columns.
  4. Keep the file at or below 25 MB for the dashboard upload.

Where do I upload it?

Open Datasets and choose Upload CSV, or open the workspace and drop the file into a new thread. Everyn shows the upload while it prepares the dataset.

  1. Wait until processing finishes.
  2. Open the dataset and confirm its row count, columns, and sample values.
  3. Attach the completed dataset to a thread before asking Everyn to create work from it.

If preparation fails, follow Upload failed.
